Carrie Bisgard Joins Team EDCOE as Principal II of Charter University Prep/Charter Connections Academy

It is EDCOE’s pleasure to announce that Carrie Bisgard has accepted the position of Principal II of Charter University Prep/Charter Connections Academy, located at EDCOE Charles Brown.
Carrie comes to EDCOE from Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District with over twenty years of educational experience where she serves as the Director of Instructional Support for a diverse group of learners and student programs. She has a sound knowledge of alternative education and charter policy as well as experience leading teams in the creation and implementation of curriculum and online courses, alternative education programs, and programs assisting students working on their Associates degree during high school.
Carrie obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Truman State University, Missouri and completed with distinction her Masters at California State University, Northridge with a focus on Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
Michael Gillespie, Executive Director of Charter Alternative Programs, Adult Education & Extended Day, expressed, "I am very much looking forward to working with Carrie. She brings with her a wide variety of experiences at both a site based and organizational level that will strengthen not only the programs at Charter Connections Academy and Charter University Prep, but also the other charter programs at EDCOE. We are fortunate to have found a leader who understands the importance of community, family, and relationships as the core to building and maintaining educational options for families in El Dorado County."
