Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) El Dorado is hosting their 27th Annual Box Lunch Fundraiser event on April 20, 2023. This signature community fundraiser is one of the organization's most effective community outreach and advocate recruitment events. Over the past 26 years, several hundred community volunteers have helped prepare and deliver thousands of lunches countywide.

A generous partnership with local philanthropists Chris and Shauna Meyer and their company High Sierra Industries, has significantly increased the efficiency of lunch production. With the experience of High Sierra Industries, thousands of lunches come together seamlessly and are then rolled out to location sites for delivery and pick up. This year’s event includes will-call locations at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville, Rolling Hills Church in El Dorado Hills, and the El Dorado County Library South Lake Tahoe branch, as well as delivery to businesses ordering five or more lunches.

Lunch cost is $12 each, with all proceeds supporting the mission of CASA El Dorado to support, empower, and provide a voice for El Dorado County’s abused, neglected, and at-risk youth. In addition, event supporters may choose to purchase a lunch for a community first responder. In 2022, of the 3,000 lunches ordered, nearly 500 were dedicated to community first responders.

Box lunch orders may be placed online (casaeldorado.org) or at the CASA El Dorado office (347 Main Street, Placerville) through March 31, 2023. Lunch delivery will be April 20, 2023, by 11 a.m. Lunches include a turkey, ham, peanut butter and jelly, or veggie. Each lunch includes a crisp Barsotti’s apple juice, as well as chips and a cookie. Volunteers are essential to the success of this event. If you have time to help and a passion for supporting youth, please contact CASA El Dorado to volunteer.
