About Home-Based Programs

About Home-Based Programs

Home Based Programs (HB) deliver the full range of Early Head Start services through visits with children and parents, primarily in the child's home and through group socialization opportunities in a classroom, other facility or community-based option. Both programs promote the parent's role as the first and most influential teacher for their child and help parents provide high-quality learning experiences that support growth and development for later success in school and life.

Family Partnerships

Family partnerships in the home base are vital to the success of the program. For many families, their involvement with this program is among their first experiences in an Early Childhood Program and the community at large. Working closely with home visitors provides families with a comprehensive approach to building a strong family structure with healthy and successful children. It helps families learn more about the community in which they live and how to access the many resources that are available to families with young children.
