Notice of Vacancy for the Early Care and Education Planning Council

The El Dorado County Early Care and Education Planning Council is accepting applications for board membership to fill four vacancies serving at the discretion of the Board of Supervisors and Superintendent of Schools. Successful applicants would be those who are concerned about and/or experienced with child care and early education issues. Two vacancies are for a consumer representatives, which is defined as a parent or person who receives, or who has received care for their children within the past 36 months. One vacancy is for a public agency representatives, which is defined as a person who represents a city, county or local educational agency. One vacancy is for a community agency representative who is defined as a person who represents an agency or business that provides private funding for child care services or who advocates for child care services through participation in civic or community based organizations, but is not a child care provider.
The fifteen member Council is a legislatively mandated body advising the County Board of Supervisors and County Superintendent of Schools on early care and education program and policy issues. The Council provides input on research and analysis, makes recommendations to the California Department of Education on funding priorities for subsidized child care and development programs, and coordinates countywide early care and education projects.
