System Improvement Leads
The SELPA System Improvement Lead Project works collaboratively within the Statewide System of Support to build the capacity of Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs) and Local Education Agencies (LEAs), with a common goal to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. El Dorado County SELPA, West San Gabriel Valley SELPA, and Riverside County SELPA will serve as California’s SELPA System Improvement Leads.
It is our belief that if partnerships are built between SELPAs, LEAs, County Offices of Education, Statewide Leads Agencies, California Department of Education, and California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, along with expanding the capacity of SELPAs to support LEAs in three key areas.
Key areas of support:
- Data use and governance
- Continuous improvement
- Implementation of high leverage practices
Building capacity in these areas will enable students with disabilities will have access to cohesive and effective school systems intentionally designed to provide the necessary supports and interventions for educational and post-secondary success.
