Community Hubs

The Community Hub project is a cross agency collaboration between the El Dorado County Library, El Dorado County Public Health Department, the Child Abuse Prevention Council and First 5 El Dorado. Our shared goal is to increase resilience in families through supportive services to increase social connectedness, knowledge of parenting and child development, connections to needed health services and other community resources. The project is based in five libraries in each of supervisorial districts and provide community based “hubs” of key services such as early literacy story times, playgroups, parenting and other resources. Each Hub team includes a Public Health Nurse, a Community Health Advocate, a Together We Grow Family Specialist and Early Childhood Literacy Specialist.
